Zendaya has confessed that her popular character ‘Rue’ from Euphoria took a great toll on her.
In a recent interview, the Spider-Man: No Way Home star admitted that it may have been easy for her to get into the role but was extremely difficult to shake it off.
The American actress and singer says that once you step into the shoes of a character, it starts to feel like a skin.
“Rue just falls into me. I’m not thinking about it so much. It’s just like, ‘Oh, she’s here now.”
While talking to Nicole Kidman in Variety’s Actors on Actors show, Zendaya called her famous TV show ‘emotionally and physically draining.’
Nicole, during the chat, asked the Dune actress, “Do you stagger out of that experience.”
She explained: “Yes and no. While it was emotionally and physically draining, it was so rewarding. I was so proud of it. It connected with people…”
The 28-year-old already feel drained, however, she has only done two seasons as of yet and more are expected to come.
In a statement, she added: “We’re supposed to do another season. I’ve only done two, but it feels like five. One season of ‘Euphoria’ is like, ‘Phew!”
“I still have my Rue scars”, concluded the Golden Globe Award winner.
Zendaya’s performance in Euphoria earned her a Primetime Emmy for ‘Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series’.
