Despite losing Klay Thompson this offseason, the Golden State Warriors recovered nicely and now have a much deeper roster on paper.

The Warriors wrapped up an unbeaten preseason schedule with a blowout win against the Los Angeles Lakers and can now turn their full attention to the upcoming 2024-25 NBA regular season.

Golden State has a strong stable of rotation players behind Stephen Curry and Draymond Green, and already looks much better on both ends of the floor.

With the combination of veterans and young players, the Warriors look like they can compete for a playoff spot off the bat before making any additional deals during the season before the NBA trade deadline.

Armed with that deep roster heading toward the regular season opener next week, the Warriors reportedly are waiving three players.

The Golden State Warriors are waiving Kevin Knox, Blake Hinson and Jackson Rowe, sources told HoopsHype. Knox has averaged 7.4 points in six NBA seasons. Hinson averaged 18.5 points and shot 42% from 3PT range at Pittsburgh last season. Rowe averaged 12.4 points in the G League,” Michael Scotto wrote on X.

Every team around the NBA is making cuts to their rosters to be compliant with the 15-man limit for the regular season.

Knox, Hinson and Rowe got opportunities to play during preseason but will now try to stick around either in the G League or with another NBA team looking for help.

It’s tough to see young players get released, but such is the nature of the league as roster spots are limited and highly coveted.
