The Indiana Pacers have a lot of optimism that they can compete with the Eastern Conference after making a run during the 2024 NBA Playoffs.

The Pacers made it all the way to the Eastern Conference Finals before losing to the eventual NBA champions the Boston Celtics.

Now, Indiana will be looking to prove itself during the 2024-25 NBA season despite an even deeper conference filled with contenders and playoff hopefuls.

Leading the way is star point guard Tyrese Haliburton who looks the part of a perennial All-Star because of his scoring and playmaking ability.

However, Haliburton has gotten off to a slow start offensively so far and had a dismal shooting performance in the blowout loss to the New York Knicks.

Haliburton failed to make any of his eight 3-point attempts and he jokingly blamed Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry for his struggles via Basketball Network.

“I’m probably going to blame Steph because he convinced me to try out pregame naps… So he’ll be getting a text from me shortly. No more pregame naps for Tyrese but we’ll figure it out,” Haliburton said.

Haliburton and Curry were teammates this past summer on the USA Basketball roster that won gold in the 2024 Olympics in Paris, and it seems the latter convinced him to switch up his pregame routine.

It’s common for players to take a pregame nap, but it appears the extra rest didn’t do Haliburton any good as he was uncharacteristically off-target.

Assuming Haliburton scraps the pregame nap, he should be able to bounce back sooner rather than later.
