The Miami Dolphins headed into the 2024 NFL regular season with high hopes of taking another step closer to being a legitimate Super Bowl contender in the AFC, with the team being one of the most talented squads on the offensive side of the football with innovative head coach Mike McDaniel leading the way.
Unfortunately for Miami, that prospect went off the rails in Week 2 when Tua Tagovailoa suffered a concussion that would cost him a considerable amount of time.
The injury was another scary moment for the talented quarterback, as it was a reminder of how dangerous this game can be, especially for a player who has suffered concussions in the past.
Despite the obvious concern about Tagovailoa’s long-term health, the 26-year-old has maintained he will not walk away from the game and intends to continue playing in the NFL.
With a chance that he will return to play in Week 8 against the Arizona Cardinals, the Pro Bowler clarified that he will not be wearing a guardian cap over his helmet to help prevent future concussions.
“Nope. Personal choice,” Tagovailoa said, via Savage Sports.

With concussions being the main concern for Tagovailoa as he continues his NFL career, it would be wise to add more protection, but he doesn’t want to go that route.
It’ll be interesting to see where things go from here and whether Tagovailoa can avoid more head injuries and get the Dolphins back on track as one of the better teams in the AFC.
