Hip-hop legend Snoop Dogg, who grew up in the Los Angeles area, is well-known as a fan of the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Dodgers, but he also roots for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

He has admitted he became a Steelers fan when he was a kid in the 1970s, at a time when they had a dynastic team featuring the likes of quarterback Terry Bradshaw, wide receiver Lynn Swann, running back Franco Harris and defensive tackle “Mean” Joe Greene.

The rapper recently was asked to name his favorite Steelers player ever, and he went with Greene, while also naming Bradshaw, Harris, Swann and Mel Blount to his Steelers Mount Rushmore.

Pittsburgh’s “Steel Curtain” dynasty of the 1970s, which won four Super Bowl championships, put them on the map as a prime-time sports franchise, and by winning two more rings in the 2005 and 2008 seasons, they have maintained their status as one of sports’ most iconic teams.

Though they have remained competitive since their last Super Bowl appearance in the 2010 campaign, they haven’t had much success in the postseason, as they have struggled to find the right crew ever since Antonio Brown, Le’Veon Bell and Ben Roethlisberger left town.

This season, the Steelers have dealt with a lingering quarterback controversy, bringing in Russell Wilson and Justin Fields during the offseason, with Wilson eventually named the starter by head coach Mike Tomlin.

However, Wilson hasn’t played yet in the regular season due to a calf injury, but he is expected to start their Week 7 game against the New York Jets on “Sunday Night Football.”
