Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor who is currently basking in the success of the horror comedy film ‘Stree 2’, recently opened up about her dad Shakti Kapoor’s unique struggles to pursue roles in films and on how the veteran actor reached the top in the industry.
Talking at the NDTV World Summit 2024, Shraddha Kapoor praised her dad Shakti Kapoor on how he reached the top level in the film industry despite not coming from a film background.
She shared Shakti Kapoor’s struggles when he came to Mumbai from Delhi desiring to become an accomplished actor.

The ‘Stree 2’ actress revealed, “He would dress up in the part he wanted to play and go to directors’ houses to convince them and that’s how he was cast.”
While sharing that she feels over the moon when people come to her and tell her that they are huge fans of Shakti Kapoor, Shraddha added that these struggle stories of her father inspire her to be humble and grateful for the opportunities that came her way.
Shakti Kapoor’s dad, who had a clothing shop, wanted to make his son work in a travel agency, but the ‘Karma’ actor decided to follow his passion – to become a famous actor.
Having spent a large part of her childhood in Delhi, Shraddha Kapoor stated that her father had no film background and he studied in an acting school only after Shakti Kapoor opened up about his wish to become an actor to his parents.
Shraddha Kapoor who has several highly awaited projects in the pipeline, also revealed that she consults her father before signing a new film.
