Karan Johar‘s 2023 directorial, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, starring Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh, has become a fan-favorite for addressing important social issues like sexism and patriarchy, all within the framework of a love story. The film also featured acting legends Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, and Shabana Azmi in key roles. Recently, actress Sheeba Akashdeep Sabir, who made a cameo in the film, shared her experience of being approached for a kissing scene with Dharmendra.
In an interview with ABP, Sheeba recalled how she was offered the role in the film. She revealed, “I think Karan randomly saw me and thought, ‘Wow, this is a good option,’ but they hesitated because they approached me for a kiss scene with Dharamji.”
The actress explained that she discussed the scene with her husband, filmmaker Akashdeep Sabir, before agreeing to the part. Sheeba shared that her husband encouraged her, assuring her that it would be a “fun little thing” and wouldn’t be inappropriate for family viewing.

While the kiss scene didn’t materialize, Sheeba described how Dharmendra gave her a “sweet little peck” on the cheek during filming. She called her appearance a “cute guest role” and praised Dharmendra as a gentleman with amazing energy.
Sheeba, known for her past work with Salman Khan in Suryavanshi (1992) and other films like Kaalia (1997) and Hum Hain Kamaal Ke (1993), said she thoroughly enjoyed her experience in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.
In the movie, Ranveer Singh portrayed Rocky Randhawa from a Punjabi household, while Alia Bhatt played Rani Chatterjee, a Bengali news anchor. Dharmendra took on the role of Rocky’s grandfather, while Shabana Azmi was cast as Rani’s grandmother.
