The New York Jets just made a big splash
Of course, it’s not like they didn’t have enough talent at wide receiver, but adding Davante Adams to the mix only makes them better.
Some weren’t as optimistic and thought this move didn’t address their underlying issues.
That’s not the case with Ron Rivera, however.
Talking on NFL Network’s Good Morning Football, the former head coach claimed that this move is going to do wonders for the offense.

He believes having Adams out there will help the running game, as opposing defenses won’t be able to stack the box and will be forced to play coverage to keep their playmakers in check.
He also thinks this is going to help their defense because the Jets will now have a better ability to move the ball and keep the chains in motion, thus getting them off the field and giving them a chance to stay fresh.
The Jets already had talented pass-catchers, but they’ve now added an elite weapon who happens to have unmatched chemistry with their quarterback and familiarity with their offense.
Also, even if they had other needs beyond the wide receiver position, you can’t pass on the opportunity to get a difference-maker like Davante Adams, especially if you’re a Super Bowl-hopeful team.
The Jets are going all-in to get the job done this season, and it’ll be interesting to see if they can turn things around now that Robert Saleh is gone and Nathaniel Hackett isn’t calling plays anymore.
