Queen Camilla is on the mend after a chest infection recently sidelined her from royal duties.
Now, she is set to resume engagements by hosting a reception for the 2024 Booker Prize shortlisted authors, showing signs of recovery after a period of rest, reported GB News.
Camilla, 77, cancelled all engagements this week to follow doctors’ advice for rest, but Buckingham Palace has confirmed that she aims to resume activities in time for next Tuesday’s Booker Prize event.
While her health improves, Camilla will skip the Field of Remembrance at Westminster Abbey, where the Duchess of Gloucester will step in for her. She also withdrew from an Olympic and Paralympic athletes’ reception hosted by King Charles at Buckingham Palace.
A Palace spokesperson noted, “Her Majesty The Queen is currently unwell with a chest infection, for which her doctors have advised a short period of rest… She apologises to all those who may be inconvenienced or disappointed as a result.”
The Queen remains under medical supervision, and she hopes to attend this weekend’s Remembrance events as scheduled.
