Kate Middleton and Prince William’s three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis’ have finally reacted to their mother’s Christmas Carol Service at Westminster Abbey.
The concert went beyond traditional carol singing to honour those who dedicate their time to helping others.
An insider shared the royal children’s reaction on their mom’s carol service appearance, saying: “They congratulated their mom for the event.”
The Prince and Princess of Wales’s children looked “so happy” alongside their mother Princess Kate during the Christmas Carol Service at Westminster Abbey according to an attendee of the event.
“It was like saying, ‘We do acknowledge you,'” said Jenny Powell, a community worker from Abergavenny in South Wales, who was among the invited guests.
Powel told PEOPLE: “They looked so happy together. It’s been a hard year, but she put that brave face on and she looked absolutely gorgeous.”
The event drew notable attendees including Kate’s parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, her sister Pippa, and brother James with his wife Alizée Thevenet.
“I was never expected to be invited,” she added.
“These things that I’ve been doing have impacted the lives of people I’ve been supporting, but knowing that the Royal Family is aware of these little things is lovely,” Powell said.
“It was a gorgeous letter,” Mrs Powell recalled. “It really showed her appreciation of what we’re all doing. It was quite touching and brought tears to my eyes.”
Duchess Sophie and other members of the royal family’s presence brought further joy to the occasion, with Prince William and their children.
Families of survivours from the Taylor Swift-themed dance class tragedy, where three children lost their lives in July, were also present.
Reflected on the significance of the recognition, Powell said: “I’m really grateful that they’re acknowledging what some people are doing in the community. It really meant something to have that opportunity to be part of that experience.”
Princess Kate hosted 1,600 guests for her fourth annual Together at Christmas concert, celebrating those who support their communities across the UK.
