Prince Harry should be known as the “Duke of Wails,” a pointed jab at the Duke of Sussex amidst ongoing legal drama.
The remark came after a court filing in Samantha Markle’s libel case against Meghan Markle referred to Harry as the “Prince of Wales,” a title he has never held.
Samantha Markle is suing her half-sister Meghan for libel over statements made in the couple’s 2022 Netflix series Harry & Meghan.
Although her previous attempt to have the case heard in Federal Court was dismissed, it has now moved to the Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit.
Peter Ticktin, a lawyer from the Ticktin Law Group, downplayed the significance of the royal titles, telling Newsweek: “To most of us Americans, we couldn’t give a tinker’s damn as to whether that prince is the Duke of Wales, the Duke of Sussex, or the Duke of Earl.”
Her lawyer, Peter, has once again stirred the pot in the ongoing case against Meghan, delivering a sharp and sarcastic critique of Harry.
He jokingly referred to Harry as the “Duke of Wails” in response to a court filing that mistakenly identified him as the “Prince of Wales” – a title currently held by his brother, Prince William.
Samantha is accusing Meghan of spreading “false and malicious lies” about her upbringing.
Specifically, she disputes The Duchess’ portrayal of growing up as an only child and the narrative surrounding her “rags-to-royalty” story.
Ticktin mocked Harry’s stance on free speech, stating, “We have a guy here in the United States who believes our 1st Amendment is ‘Bonkers’… while he’s one of 16 governors of a group called the Aspen Institute (the Ministry of Truth), who decide which statements on our internet should be deleted as misinformation.”
