Paul Mescal performed a rendition of his latest movie Gladiator II by turning it into a musical during his appearance at Saturday Night Live.
The 28-year-old actor put up a comedic skit inspired by his movie along with longtime SNL cast member Kenan Thompson.
The plot of the skit was based on the motive to promote Gladiator II, and inspired by the successes of musicals Moana 2, and Wicked: Part One, the BAFTA winning actor decided to turn his movie into a musical.
The Normal People star flaunted his singing and dancing skills for the skit on Saturday, December 7th and fans went wild over the performance.
Mescal opened the scene gazing at his sword from the movie, as he started singing, “They look at me and all they see is a killing machine, but they don’t know that far below I’m so much more than I seem.”
He then transitioned into a dance performance and elevated his musical to the next level.
Fans flocked to social media and praised the Aftersun actor with excitement. One X user wrote, “PAUL THE TRIPLE THREAT MESCAL.”

Referring to Mescal’s theatre performances in school, a fan added, “Paul Mescal said I am a theatre kid FIRST and FOREMOST! #SNL.”
