The New England Patriots packed their bags and jumped on a plane to face the Jacksonville Jaguars in London for NFL Week 7.

It will be rookie quarterback Drake Maye’s second start, and though having it overseas might not be ideal, the Patriots at least want to make the most of this marketing opportunity.

According to Mike Kadlick of CLNS Media, the Patriots will wear their white jerseys and silver pants in the game, perhaps looking to attract as many international fans as possible.

The New England offense took a big step forward with Maye at quarterback instead of Jacoby Brissett, as he needed just one game to throw more passing touchdowns (three) than the veteran did in the first five weeks of the season.

Granted, Maye is quite raw, and he’ll make some mistakes, but that’s to be expected.

The Patriots were patient with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, and some were worried they could ruin his confidence by throwing him into the fire too early.

They don’t have a lot of talent at wide receiver, and a subpar offensive line, so Maye might be running for his life more often than not.

Then again, with the talent and physical tools he has, it only made sense that they give him a chance to showcase his skills and get the growing pains out of the way.

Maybe he’ll even get his first career win in London, as the Jaguars haven’t fared much better than the Pats this season.
