King Charles and Queen Camilla hosted a significant royal event of the year on Tuesday, December 3rd, following a series of health crisis.
The royal couple welcomed the Qatar royalties, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and his wife, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Hamad bin Suhaim Al Thani, at the Buckingham Palace for the State Banquet.
Just hours before the exclusive luncheon commenced, the Palace shared a behind the scenes video of the King and Queen making inspections over the exquisite arrangements for the big event.
“Finishing touches and final checks ahead of this evening’s State Banquet…” the caption read alongside the video.
In the footage, Charles is accompanied by the wife, who has been fighting lingering effects of the viral chest infection, as they checked the preparations for the big event. The couple took rounds around the ballroom to ensure everything was to their liking as they inspected the glittering cutlery set out on the table and the decorations being put up.
The details of the banquet were done weeks in advance with meticulous attention to the cultural and traditions of the country visiting. Some British traditions are also incorporated to cater to the 150 attendees at the banquet.
The State Banquet is the first after King Charles announced his cancer diagnosis this year. This also marks the first big event for Kate Middleton, who completed her nine-month cancer treatment in September.
