Actress Neelam Kothari shared the screen with big stars like Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan, and Rajesh Khanna during her golden era. She played opposite Rajesh Khanna in the 1989 movie ‘Ghar Ka Chiraag‘, and in a recent conversation, she revealed what it was like to have an on-screen romance with the legendary actor.
In an interview with Radio Nasha, Kothari mentioned that working with Khanna, known for his romantic on-screen presence, was quite an experience. Kothari described her experience of working with Rajesh Khanna, calling him quiet, reserved, and extremely helpful on set. “He was actually very quiet and reserved on set,” she stated. The actress expressed that playing the mature role in ‘Ghar Ka Chiraag’ felt more natural because acting alongside a legendary actor like Khanna brought out her best reactions and expressions. Reflecting on the experience, Kothari admitted that she never imagined she would get the opportunity to work with such an iconic star.

Neelam Kothari also reminisced about starring opposite Aamir Khan in the romantic drama ‘Afsana Pyar Ka’, sharing how they filmed the song “Tip Tip” together in just three days. She praised the simplicity of filmmaking at the time and mentioned that Aamir was meticulous about his scenes and performances. Kothari recalled how he would often suggest retakes, demonstrating his dedication to perfection.

She further recalled working with Saif Ali Khan in ‘Parampara’, which marked his acting debut. She described Saif as being the same then as he is today—well-read, well-spoken, and very funny. Kothari shared a humorous memory of how she, Aamir Khan, and Raveena Tandon would burst into laughter every time Saif delivered the line, “Pratap has landed.” She also mentioned reconnecting with him recently on the sets of ‘Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives’, where they reminisced about filming a song together in Switzerland.
