    MLB ballpark rankings: A 1-30 list from three writers who have seen them all (almost)



    MassLive traveled virtually everywhere with the Red Sox in 2024, bringing you coverage from 22 different ballparks, including Fenway Park, during the regular season. With three veteran baseball writers on staff — Chris Cotillo, Sean McAdam and Chris Smith — we thought it would be a good time to, once and for all, provide a definitive (yet extremely subjective) ranking of every ballpark in baseball.

    All three writers ranked ballparks from best to worst and had to explain themselves on a two-part edition of the Fenway Rundown podcast, which dropped Thursday morning. You can listen to Part I here and Part II here. Note how the disparities in the rankings speak to the wide range of passionate opinions people have on this topic.

    Here are all three writers’ rankings, with a couple of caveats. Firstly, all three have only been to 29 of the 30 active ballparks (counting Oakland, not Sacramento), so the rankings will reflect that. Cotillo has never been to Arizona’s Chase Field, McAdam has not been to Cincinnati’s Great American Ball Park and Smith has never seen Pittsburgh’s PNC Park. Also, McAdam decided that he didn’t want Fenway Park to be part of his rankings, so he has just 28 on his list.
