Miley Cyrus has recently spoken in favour of Chappell Roan amid rising stardom.
In a new interview with Harper’s Bazaar, the Flowers hit-maker addresses criticism Chappell had faced during her breakout year in the music industry.
“I wish people would not give her a hard time,” said the 31-year-old.
Miley told the outlet, “It’s probably really hard coming into this business with phones and Instagram.”
“That wasn’t always a part of my life, and I’m not a part of it now,” stated the Hannah Montana actress.
Miley added, “I don’t even have my Instagram password.”
Earlier in June, Chappell reflected on her life and “the past couple of weeks” in a TikTok video.
“What’s so reassuring and so sick is — the pop girls that you and I have loved our whole lives or have been stans [of] the past two or three years — a lot of them have reached out and are so supportive and girl’s girls,” she explained.
Chappell remarked, “To have people I look up to reach out and offer like a friend or help, I don’t know, it’s just sick and it makes me believe in the world.”
The Casual crooner reportedly lauded Miley and revealed she was a fan of Miley at Disney Legends ceremony.
Chappell opened up that Miley’s Best of Both Worlds Tour in 2007 was her first concert, saying, “The things that I admire about Miley Cyrus is that she constantly reinvents herself and always works.”
“For a lot of artists, it can seem inauthentic or out of the blue, but she’s very open about her transformations artistically and personally. She’s so true to herself and puts out music that is so authentic,” noted the Pink Pony Club singer.
