The Los Angeles Lakers have gotten off to a strong start this season but most fans agree they could improve their roster with a few more pivotal tweaks.

For months now, devoted Lakers followers have been pleading with the front office to add some power, especially to the frontcourt.

    Have the Lakers been listening?

According to Jovan Buha, per RealGM and NBACentral, the Lakers have “shown interest” in Walker Kessler of the Utah Jazz.

It is important to know that just because the Lakers have an interest in Kessler doesn’t mean they will pursue him but there is a chance they take the next steps to acquire him.

Kessler has been very productive during his first two years in the NBA.

Playing only for the Jazz, he has averaged 8.7 points and 8 rebounds per game during that time.

At seven feet tall, Kessler could be a big anchor for the Lakers’ frontcourt.

Even though LA has one of the best big men in the league, Anthony Davis, they have been interested in bolstering the roster and giving Davis more support.

He is obviously large enough to be a center but Davis has always said he performs better and more comfortably as a power forward.

Signing Kessler could finally give Davis his wish of playing that role instead of being the team’s most reliable center.

The Lakers have other options, of course, and Kessler might not be the only person on their radar.

But the very fact they are interested in him shows they are listening to fans – and Davis – and might get a new center soon.
