Keith Urban and Taylor Swift have shared a close bond ever since the Lover singer first began performing at an early age.
In an appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show, the Urban opened up about how he ended up being part of That’s When duet from Fearless (Taylor’s Version) collaborator.
“She had a song she wanted me to do, and she just texted me and said, ‘I have a song that I want you to sing on,’ and I said, ‘Can you send me the song?’ The next minute, she texted me the song,” the Blue Ain’t Your Color crooner explained.
Urban shared that he was at a mall’s food court. “I’m sitting there with my air pods in listening to this unreleased Taylor song. It was crazy,” he shared.
The 57-year-old singer also gushed about the 14-time Grammy winner’s impressive performances since her teen years.
“She was amazing even back then,” he said. “I would sit up front and watch her sing and I’m like, ‘Oh, she was singing way off into this other thing.’”
The country singer stated that Swift’s singing skills were beyond her years. “She was playing way past where she was already. It’s amazing.”
Before Swift took on her first ever headline tour for Fearless album, she was an opening act for Urban’s Escape Together World Tour.
To this day, Urban has continued to support Swift as he attended the Eras Tour show in Philadelphia and praised her for being on ‘top of her game’.
Meanwhile, Swift, who marked her 35th birthday after wrapping her The Eras Tour, also received a new honour. She was dubbed as the most-awarded artist in Billboard Music Awards history with 49 trophies.
