Kate Middleton, Prince William moved to Windsor for emotional reason

Prince William wanted to spend more time with his grandmother during her final months

The Prince and Princess of Wales surprised many when they announced their decision to leave London for a quieter life in Windsor.

The move, which involved relocating from the luxurious Apartment 1A at Kensington Palace to the modest Adelaide Cottage, marked a significant shift for the royal family.

The change was largely driven by their desire to provide a better environment for their children, with the new location allowing Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis to attend Lambrook School.

Additionally, the move placed them closer to the late Queen Elizabeth II, offering Prince William the opportunity to spend more time with his grandmother during her final months. A source explained to the Sun.

“Catherine understood that for William, as a future king, it was important for him to be geographically closer to the late Queen in her final months when he was required to support both her and his father.”

Adelaide Cottage, located within the secure 655-acre Windsor estate, also comes with challenges. Recently, the estate experienced a security scare when masked intruders targeted the property, reportedly stealing vehicles stored in a barn.

According to The Sun, the robbers had scaled the six-foot fence during the night to steal farm vehicles from the property.

Despite these incidents, the family remains settled in their new home, regularly seen using the nearby gate leading to Windsor Castle.

This move follows the footsteps of other royal transitions, reflecting a blend of practicality, duty, and family priorities.
