Over the last few seasons, Jaylen Brown of the Boston Celtics has cemented his status as one of the most amazing players in the NBA.

He has a level of talent that most people pray for but he’s a success for reasons beyond his natural skills.

Speaking to Chris Forsberg on NBC Sports, Brown opened up about his underwater workouts, which have become a subject of great attention throughout the league.

Brown said working out under the water doesn’t just look cool, but it also improves his breathing and even helps him with anxiety.

The photos of Brown deep in a pool have turned many heads.

People are impressed by his ability to stand at the bottom of the pool and push his body to the limit.

These images have certainly intimidated some other NBA players, but they serve a very real purpose for Brown.

He knows underwater workouts have helped his physicality but they have also trained his breathing in an important way.

He claims he can now hold his breath for more than three minutes, which surely helps him out when he’s sprinting up and down the court.

Additionally, Brown said the workouts have allowed him to manage his anxiety better.

He noted that anxiety often feels like drowning so forcing his body to face that very real fear has assisted him in overcoming it.

Some people might be too afraid to try this unique workout but it obviously has some major benefits for Brown.

No wonder he earned a championship ring, Eastern Conference Finals MVP, and Finals MVP last season after months of hitting the pool.
