Jamie Foxx penned an emotional note for his sister, DeOndra Dixon, on her fourth death anniversary.
The Baby Driver star took to Instagram on Saturday, October 19, to remember his sister, who was born with Down syndrome.
“There’s not a day that goes by that we don’t think about you,” he wrote in the caption of the carousel featuring Dixon. “We know that you are up in heaven shining down on us and guiding us in the spirit of joy and happiness.”
“Miss you sis, I love you,” Foxx, 56, concludes the touching message.
The cover photo featured the late sister beaming in a purple dress, while the montage of photos also included snapshots of the siblings together.
Dixon passed away in 2020 at the age of 36. “My beautiful, loving sister Deondra has transitioned,” the Django Unchained actor wrote on Instagram at the time. “I say transitioned because she will always be alive… anyone who knew my sis… knew that she was a bright light.”
In addition to being a longtime participant in the Special Olympics, Dixon served as an ambassador for the Global Down Syndrome Foundation and was also passionate about dance.
She made an appearance in Foxx’s Blame It music video in 2009 and performed onstage at his concerts. In 2020, Dixon joined Foxx at the Grammy Awards as well.
