‘Homestead’ TV Companion Series Casts Charles Esten, Jill Wagner & Sam Page

EXCLUSIVE: Angel Studios (Sound of Freedom) is rounding out cast for TV series Homestead, a continuation of the upcoming film of the same name starring Neal McDonough, Bailey Chase and Dawn Olivieri. Charles Esten (Outer Banks, Nashville), Jill Wagner (Lioness, Braven) and Sam Page (Mad Men, House of Cards) have been cast in the post-apocalyptic drama series about the survival of a community within a doomsday compound. They join the film’s Chase and Olivieri, who will also appear in the series.

Based on Jeff Kirkham and Jason Ross’ bestselling book series Black Autumn, Homestead the series revolves around a family’s attempts to survive after a world-ending tragedy.

Described as The Last of Us meets SEAL Team, Homestead is set against the backdrop of a collapsing civilization and tells the gripping story of two families—the ultra-prepared wealthy family and the military veteran family they’ve hired for security—who clash in a world teetering on the brink of chaos. As tensions rise and the dangers outside grow, evidence mounts that divine intervention may play a role in their survival.

Esten will play Cain Ross, a tall, commanding figure with a rugged presence. Cain is Ian’s brother and is responding to a plea for help from Homestead, but his lone wolf persona clashes with the group’s living life by committee rule.

Wagner will portray Jacq Reynolds, a pregnant therapist in her third trimester who must navigate her new role within the inner circle of Homestead while helping others cope with their trauma. Unprepared for the deep religious feeling that has swept over many of the survivors, Jacq uses her communications skills to get the most deeply stoic / deeply wounded to open up and talk about the horrors they have seen.

Page will play Tom Reynolds, Jacq’s husband and a resilient engineer invited by his college roommate Ian Ross to Homestead. Tom quickly jumps to the middle ranks of Homestead society. Having come from a Texas set ablaze by the conflict, Tom is grateful for the respite, for however brief it may be.

Homestead the series is produced by Angel Studios, 10ton, Skies Fall Entertainment, 2521, and Radiate Pictures. Black Autumn co-author Ross serves as showrunner along with Skies Fall Entertainment founder Ben Kasica.

The series will launch exclusively on the Angel Studios platform.
