Dwyane Wade’s legacy in Miami grew even larger on Sunday as the Heat honored their greatest player with a historic tribute.
The franchise unveiled an 8-foot bronze statue of Wade at the Kaseya Center, marking the first such monument in the team’s 37-year history.
The statue, reported by WPLG Local 10 News’s Will Manso, captures Wade’s iconic “This is my house” celebration following a game-winning shot.

Basketball royalty gathered for the unveiling, with longtime teammates Udonis Haslem and Bam Adebayo joining Heat patriarch Pat Riley.
WNBA star A’ja Wilson and Wade’s wife, Gabrielle Union-Wade, were also present to witness the historic moment.
The masterminds behind the statue, Oscar León and Omri Amrany, add this work to their impressive portfolio, which includes the famous Michael Jordan statue in Chicago and Kobe Bryant’s memorial in Los Angeles.
Wade’s impact on the Heat franchise spans nearly two decades, from his arrival in 2003 to his farewell season in 2018-19, with only a brief departure in between.
His achievements speak volumes: three NBA championships (2006, 2012, 2013), 13 All-Star selections, and a playing style that redefined the shooting guard position.
