The Dallas Cowboys are off to a less-than-ideal start to their 2024 season.

They are sitting with a record of 3-3 and are coming off one of the worst losses in franchise history at the hands of the Detroit Lions (47-9 in Week 6).

Despite the rough start, that does not mean owner Jerry Jones is looking to mail it in.

According to Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston, the Cowboys recently signed former XFL defensive tackle Jalen Dalton.

Before playing for the Seattle Sea Dragons and San Antonio Brahmas of the XFL, Dalton spent time with four NFL teams in five years.

From 2019 to 2023, the North Carolina product was with the Chicago Bears, New Orleans Saints, Atlanta Falcons and Carolina Panthers, primarily on the practice squad.

The Cowboys have been struggling up front with injuries, with both Micah Parsons and DeMarcus Lawrence trying to get back to the playing field.

In the meantime, perhaps Dalton can find a way to make an impact in Mike Zimmer’s defense.

The journeyman has 13 career NFL tackles, with the Falcons in 2022, and has continued to grind away to fight for another opportunity.

It might be the exact kind of energy the Cowboys need if they want to turn things around.

If they take on the identity of a player who has continued to fight for his chance, maybe they will be just a little bit tougher.

Time will tell to see if Dalton can find a way to make an impact or not, starting after their bye in Week 8 against the San Francisco 49ers.
