Colin Farrell’s “Penguin” may make a trip to Gotham City in Matt Reeves’ The Batman 2.
With The Penguin, the HBO series spin-off which is igniting Emmy rumours and is almost concluding it’s first season, Farrell hints at making an appearance as the Gotham City villain in the upcoming sequel to Matt Reeves‘ The Batman (2022).
“I have no idea what the second film is gonna be. I heard Penguin features in it. I haven’t read it,” he told Julia Cunningham on SiriusXM’s The Jess Cagle.
“It’d be interesting to see where we pick up from. There’s been so much pipe laid. It’d be interesting to see where it goes from here, you know? But he would be quite different.”
Farrell previously played the role of the Gotham villain opposite Robert Pattinson‘s Dark Knight in The Batman.
Set in a plot after one week of the movie, The Penguin is based on the story of Oswald ‘Oz’ Cobblepot as he rises to power in the city’s criminal underworld.
On the other hand, Reeves has previously hinted at making The Batman a trilogy.
“Yes, that is still the plan. I mean, it’s sticking very closely to the path we envisioned,” he shared with Collider in September.
