Chet Holmgren of the Oklahoma City Thunder made a statement on Thursday night.

During his team’s impressive win over the Denver Nuggets, Holmgren produced a stellar stat line, scoring 25 points, 14 rebounds, 5 assists, 4 blocks, and 2 steals.

Evan Sidery reminded fans about this performance on Friday morning, writing on X, “Holmgren’s star ascension will take the Thunder to a new stratosphere.”

Countless Thunder fans agreed with that on Friday morning.

Holmgren was already a name to watch, especially after his dominant rookie season.

He averaged 16.5 points, 7.9 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 2.3 blocks per game in 2023-24.

He was the runner-up for Rookie of the Year and it was clear that the Thunder signed someone special with him.

Holmgren obviously has an enormous amount of talent but one thing that assists him even more is the fact that he’s in one of the best lineups in the NBA.

The Thunder are filled with multiple terrific stars and Holmgren’s chances of reaching the Finals are higher because of them.

Holmgren works incredibly well with his peers on the Thunder and it’s clear that everyone on the roster deeply cares for one another.

On Thursday night, they were making their way past the dominance of Nikola Jokic, which is a true testament to how much talent they have.

Expectations for the Thunder were already sky-high before the season began but they are likely even higher after this first game.

Holmgren missed out on Rookie of the Year to Victor Wembanyama last season but he might be on his way to his first championship, especially if he keeps playing like this.
