Chase Stokes, actor from The Uglies, enthusiastically supported his girlfriend Kelsea Ballerini in her latest music video, First Rodeo.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight at Giorgio Armani’s Spring/Summer 2025 show, Stokes shared his experience.
“It was a no-brainer,” Stokes said, recalling Ballerini’s request. “She wrote this song kind of about our story, and I don’t want to have anybody else do it. So, will you?”
Stokes’ immediate response? “Yeah, duh. What are you talking about?” He laughed, adding, “And she was like, ‘Oh! It was that easy?’ And I was like, ‘Yes, babe. Yes, exactly.'”
The music video premiered on October 16, ahead of Ballerini’s album Patterns release on October 25. Stokes appreciated the project’s intimacy.
“It was such a beautiful video,” he said.
The couple, who began dating in January 2023, recently clarified a misconception about Ballerini not watching Stokes’ drama series Outer Banks.
“She can watch whatever she wants,” Stokes emphasised. “It’s just more along the lines of… if she wants to watch it, she can. If she doesn’t want to watch it, it’s not gonna hurt my feelings.”
Ballerini previously shared on the Call Her Daddy podcast how she met Stokes by sliding into his DMs.
“I’ve never seen his show, but I just knew of him, and I just swan dove right on in,” Ballerini said. Her simple yet effective message? “Hi, Chase Stokes.”
