The Chicago Bears, like a lot of NFL teams this season, are sitting at a record of 2-2.

However, unlike a lot of those teams, the Bears have won their games with defense and special teams, as rookie quarterback Caleb Williams has struggled to put a good product on the field for the offense.

Former Bears quarterback and current NFL analyst Chase Daniel recently called out Williams’ performance heading into their Week 5 game against the Carolina Panthers.

“I need 30 points. I need you to play well. … (Williams) could use this as a jumping-off game,” Daniel said on “The Facility.”

The Panthers are one of the worst teams in the NFL right now and are ranked 28th in total defense.

This has to be a game when Williams shows up and shows out, because the Panthers aren’t a real threat, even with Andy Dalton at quarterback instead of Bryce Young.

So far this season, Williams has a passer rating of 72.0 and has thrown three touchdowns with four interceptions.

The Bears have put up 24 points twice, but a lot of that was either scored or set up by their defense.

If the Bears can score at least 25 points on offense and gain more than 350 yards against the Panthers, Chicago fans all over should feel very encouraged.

This season is all about growth for a team that won seven games last year but decided to move on from Justin Fields.

As Daniel said, it is time for Williams and his offense to step up and play their best game of the season.
