The new NBA season is just days away and people are already predicting who will win the end-of-season awards like Most Valuable Player.

Obviously, no one knows anything yet but there are a few players who are ones to watch in the race for the trophy.

Speaking on “Run It Back”, via NBACentral, Chandler Parsons said he thinks Jayson Tatum will win MVP this season, partly because so many people have counted him out.

To make things even better for Tatum, Parsons also believes the Boston Celtics will claim another championship at the end of 2024-25.

    Parsons said:

“They’re still hating on him, making him seem like he’s an issue and he’s not that guy. I think Tatum has the biggest year of his career this year and I think the Boston Celtics win it all and I think he’s the MVP.”

Tatum just had arguably the biggest season of his career but Parsons thinks things will be even better this year.

He averaged 26.9 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 4.9 assists per game in 2023-24.

He became a champion for the first time and then became an Olympic gold medalist again too.

However, Parsons is right when he says that many people don’t think Tatum is “that guy” and he constantly gets criticism about not being the sort of leader the Celtics need.

He wasn’t in contention for MVP and didn’t claim Finals MVP or Eastern Conference Finals MVP.

Will all of that change in 2024-25?

If Tatum can earn MVP it’ll be because he’s playing on a whole other level, which will secure his place as one of the best stars in the league.

It’ll also silence the chorus of critics who want more from him.
