Jin has found himself at the centre of controversy following his recent comments about the dynamics among the seven BTS members.
During a conversation with Japanese personality Masaki Aiba on Since Those Days, the 31-year-old singer explained that he and his bandmates—Jimin, Jungkook, J-Hope, Suga, RM, and V—are not friends but rather partners working together.
Some netizens misinterpreted Jin’s remarks, claiming that he does not consider his bandmates friends but only colleagues.
However, the K-pop idols did not need to worry, as his fans quickly came to his defence on social media, clarifying his intent.
“Jin was talking about how friendship should be kept separate from the workplace and how one should see colleagues as coworkers. That’s called being PROFESSIONAL. It doesn’t mean what you’re trying to imply,” one fan commented.
“He was asked about respect and professionalism, and he answered accordingly. The boys just know how to separate their personal and professional aspects of their relationship, and that’s a good thing,” another fan added.
“I agree with him 100%. I used to work with my sisters, and as soon as we entered the workplace, we became coworkers, not family. It’s better that way,” a third fan shared, offering a real-life example.
“I think it’s been misinterpreted. He was talking about professionalism—when they work together, they act like partners, not friends,” a fourth fan pointed out.
Jin’s comments highlighted that disagreements are inevitable when seven individuals contribute their perspectives to a project.
However, the members approach their work professionally, ensuring personal emotions don’t interfere avoiding unnecessary conflicts.
