Ariana Grande has recently addressed fan memes of Cynthia Erivo’s Wicked poster.
Speaking to Variety exclusively at the Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles on October 19, Ariana showed support to Cynthia as she slammed the use of AI as “conflicting and troublesome”.
“I think it’s very complicated because I find AI so conflicting and troublesome sometimes, but I think it’s just kind of such a massive adjustment period,” said the 31-year-old.
Ariana told the outlet, “This is something that is such so much bigger than us and the fans are gonna have fun and make their edits.”
When questioned if memes can sometimes go too far, Ariana pointed out, “I think so. And I have so much respect for my sister, Cynthia, and I love her so much.”
“It’s just a big adjustment period. It’s so much stimulation about something that’s so much bigger than us,” she added.
Earlier, Cynthia lashed out at her follower for over a particular edited Wicked poster featuring she and co-star Ariana where the fan had made it look like the original West End post.
The actress took to her Instagram Story on Wednesday to repost an edited version of the uveiled poster for her new movie, which is a remake of the stage version.
She wrote, “This is the wildest, most offensive thig I have seen.”
When asked Ariana if she and Cynthia could record original music together in the future.
To which the singer replied, “I love being in the studio with her, even just as like a fly on the wall, hearing what she’s working on and having her there when I’m working.”
“I think we are stuck with each other, professionally and personally for the rest of our lives. So, I would say absolutely,” she added.
