During his time with the Los Angeles Lakers, superstar Anthony Davis has had issues with staying healthy, even though he’s been highly productive on the basketball floor when able to play.
Although staying healthy has been a persistent problem for Davis during his stint with the Lakers up to this point, the veteran big man was able to play 76 games last season and has become determined to be available for his team while still playing at a superstar level.
Ahead of the 2024-25 NBA regular season, Davis knows new head coach JJ Redick and the team’s overhauled coaching staff will lean heavily on him to be the focal point on both ends of the basketball floor.
After practice on Sunday, Davis opened up about what his mentality is right now coming into the regular season via Dave McMenamin of ESPN.
“Being aggressive every time down the floor, being dominant every game,” Davis said. “Doing my job. Doing my part and helping this team doing what we got to do.”

If Davis can stay healthy while being a dominant force on both ends of the basketball floor, the Lakers might have a chance to make some noise during the upcoming regular season, even though this team isn’t getting much buzz as a potential force to be reckoned with in the Western Conference.
On Tuesday, the Lakers will get their regular season underway, going head-to-head with Anthony Edwards and the visiting Minnesota Timberwolves at Crypto.com Arena in downtown Los Angeles.
