Deion Sanders’ Colorado Buffaloes picked up another solid victory on Saturday night when they took down Cincinnati 34-23 to move to 6-2 on the year and make themselves bowl-eligible in a full season for the first time since 2016.
It’s a huge accomplishment for Coach Prime in just his second year in Boulder, and one analyst called out his critics after the game.
Emmanuel Acho took to X after the game and noted that it’s time to have an uncomfortable conversation with Deion’s haters, saying “Deion Sanders can coach, and when I say Deion Sanders can coach, I mean that boy can coach well…Deion Sanders has turned this Colorado football program all the way around. Shoutout to what Deion Sanders is doing with the Colorado program.”

Acho pointed out that this is now only the second time this team has won six games or more since 2007, which is some shocking context that needs to be remembered when judging Sanders for this program’s performance.
Coach Prime invites criticism by having his son as the team’s quarterback and being loud and confident, and by winning just four games last year, the door was left wide open for critics to waltz in and dance on his grave.
Now, at 6-2 and with a pair of legitimate Heisman Trophy candidates leading the squad, there isn’t much to say to disparage the job Sanders has done.
Colorado has a fairly tough schedule over the rest of the year and will head to Texas Tech on November 9th after next week’s bye.
