Trump’s Harris comment turns into viral ‘dance party with Beyoncé’ song embraced by Dems

Donald Trump may have intended to criticize Vice President Kamala Harris and President Joe Biden, but now his words have become music to the ears of Democrats.

    Make that four words.

“Nobody’s in charge,” Trump said at an Oct. 25 rally in Traverse City, Michigan. “Joe Biden is asleep, Kamala is at a dance party with Beyoncé.”

Over in Brooklyn, DJ iMarkkeyz’ ears perked up.

    Time for a new track.

The resulting song, titled “Beyoncé,” has gone viral on social media (you can listen below, on YouTube, or opt for the free download).

This tune samples Trump saying “dance party with Beyoncé” to great effect, creating a head-bopping, rump-shaking diversion that those voting for Harris have embraced. You’ll hear some of the 2013 Beyoncé song “Partition” in there, too.

Trump was referring to Beyoncé’s appearance at Harris’ Oct. 25 rally in the singer’s native Houston, Texas.

The Grammy-winning artist spoke in support of the vice president’s bid for the presidency alongside her fellow former Destiny’s Child member Kelly Rowland and her mother, Tina Knowles (see clip below). Beyoncé’s song “Freedom” (2016) is Harris’ campaign song.

“We are at the precipice of an incredible shift,” Beyoncé told the crowd. “The brink of history. I’m not here as a celebrity, I’m not here as a politician, I’m here as a mother. A mother who cares deeply about the world my children and all of our children live in. A world where we have the freedom to control our bodies. A world where we’re not divided. Our past, our present, our future merge to meet us here.”

“It’s time to sing a new song,” she said at the rally. “A song that began 248 years ago. The old notes of downfall, discord, despair no longer resonate. Our generations of loved ones before us are whispering a prophecy, a quest, a calling, an anthem.”

Some of those planning to vote for the vice president pledged to play the iMarkkeyz song remixing Trump’s comments about Harris and Beyoncé to celebrate a Harris victory.

Brooklyn’s iMarkkeyz, who went viral with his remix of Cardi B saying “coronavirus!!” at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, is now a two-DJ/producer act comprised of Brandon Davidson and Keyz Wu.

Their song sampling Trump has earned plaudits from Questlove and Hot 97 host Peter Rosenberg, among others.

The track has taken off on TikTok, where people are dancing to the edit and using it as a soundtrack to a mix of various dance clips of Beyoncé and Harris supporters.
