Entreprenaari x Gulabo by Abu Sandeep celebrated women entrepreneurs with a unique fashion show in Mumbai.
Navya Nanda walked the ramp dressed in an ensemble designed by Gulabo by Abu Sandeep.
Celebrating women entrepreneurs in style, entrepreneur Navya Nanda in collaboration with Aspire for Her hosted a unique fashion show featuring designs from Gulabo by Abu Sandeep. Crafted with love, Entreprenaari was all about embracing inclusivity and empowering women entrepreneurs.
The event featured a vibrant fashion show with real women, the ‘Entreprenaaris’ all dressed in Gulabo by Abu Sandeep. Dressed in a white tiered strappy dress paired with a matching long jacket with 3D floral applique work, Navya Nanda looked confident and excited about the showcase. Speaking about the look and the fashion showcase, Navya says, “It’s perfect because it is simple, it is very me and it makes me feel very confident. It is the first time Gulabo [by Abu Sandeep] is doing a fashion show. It is the first time I am walking, so it is a very special collaboration.”
A special collaboration, indeed, as Navya pointed out that the show is all about inclusivity and celebrating women of all ages, shapes, sizes. “All of us being there together celebrating beauty is exactly what Gulabo and Entreprenaari both stand for, which is perfect.”
So what does Navya aspire to be, she says, “A Confident Entreprenaari.”
A vibrant celebration of India’s rich heritage with a contemporary approach, the runway was brought to life with a colourful presentation of festive wear from the pret label’s Gota Architecture, Bombay Festive, Ikat Applique, Eternal Gota and Boho Bandhani collections. Embodying the spirit of modern Indian fashion, Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla combined elegance and playfulness through a range of dresses, tunics, kaftans, kurtas and dhotis enhanced with signature Gota, mirror work, applique, block prints and bandhani.
Navya, who has grown up wearing ensembles created by the couturiers, expresses how special this moment is to her. “I have grown up in front of their eyes. They have been like family to me. So it means a lot that they chose to do this and support this initiative and do this fashion show with us. I am really grateful to them,” expresses Navya.
Elated to be part of this noble initiative, Abu and Sandeep expressed their excitement, saying, “We love women. They have shaped us and we are forever grateful to all the women in our lives. Entreprenaari is a fabulous initiative that put young entrepreneurs, dancers, and artists on the map. We are delighted to present our label at this event. May we all be part of the drive to bring about change.”
This one of a kind fashion show dedicated to celebrating women entrepreneurs also saw celebrity stars including Rupali Ganguly, Pratibha Ranta, Nitanshi Goel, Anushka Sen, Olympian Dipa Karmakar, among others, walk the ramp.
Speaking about supporting the initiative through fashion, Saudamini Mattu, CEO, Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla shares, “It is an honour to support women in their journeys to success. Real women personified Real Style, as our fabulous models on the ramp. We wanted our first show for Gulabo to be meaningful. It is an embodiment of our vision for Gulabo as a label! One that celebrates individuality, ambition and professional achievement. Our Time has Come. We choose to seize the day.”
The show was hosted by RJ Malishka. Choreographers Aparna and Anisha of ‘Preferred Professionals’ brought the show to life with their creative direction. Entreprenaari Diwali event featuring women-owned businesses is on till October 26 at PVR Drive-In Theatre, Jio World Drive, BKC, Mumbai.
