Aggies’ all-black look against Tigers tops Week 9 college football uniforms

A top-15 matchup means special uniforms in Week 9 of the College Football season.

The No. 14 Texas A&M Aggies will face the No. 8 LSU Tigers in a battle of 6-1 teams at Kyle Field. The Aggies will take the field in style, rocking their all-black uniforms equipped with a script “Aggies” font on the helmet. It’s the first time Texas A&M has worn all-black since 2015.

LSU will combat the uniform with an icy all-white look.

Here are the best college football uniforms from Week 9.

Unique Combinations

The newly No. 1-ranked Oregon Ducks take on the No. 20 Illinois Fighting Illini at home on Saturday in a familiar look. They’ll wear the helmet and uniform from their “Heroes” uniform, which debuted in Week 6. But there’s a twist — the Ducks complete it with dark pants, rather than yellow.

The Oregon State Beavers may be struggling on the field, but their uniform doesn’t miss this week. Oregon State has a clean look ahead of its matchup against the California Golden Bears.

Dark Mode

The Aggies aren’t the only ranked team in all-black this week. The No. 6 Miami Hurricanes have a sweet monochromatic combination against the Florida State Seminoles.

Throwbacks

Homecomings across the country mean the throwbacks are coming out.

The Minnesota Golden Gophers are donning a classic-style white helmet against the Maryland Terrapins. Minnesota wore the helmets during the 1960s.

Four straight losses have spoiled the North Carolina Tar Heels‘ season, but they are bringing the heat this week with clean white throwbacks.

It’s a big matchup with the No. 11 BYU Cougars this week and the UCF Knights opted for a throwback look. The Knights’ all-black combination includes a classic 90s helmet.

Helmet Heat

The TCU Horned Frogs rarely miss with their helmets and this week is no exception. After a white look last week, TCU is bringing back its purple lids.

The No. 18 Ole Miss Rebels are mixing up their traditional look with the debut of a clean helmet against the Oklahoma Sooners.
