Former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick is considered by many to be the greatest coach in NFL history, which is well-deserved considering he led the franchise to six Super Bowls.
Belichick has always been known for his stoic demeanor even during the highest of highs and lowest of lows during that two-decade run with the Pats, but Belichick recently shared which day was the most emotional he ever had at Gillette Stadium.
When speaking with Ryan Clark and the rest of the panel on Inside The NFL on Friday, Belichick said linebacker Tedy Bruschi’s return to the field during Week 8 in 2005 after suffering a stroke was the most emotional moment for him, adding how there was a chill inside of the stadium during Bruschi’s first tackle as everyone was wondering if he’d be okay.

Bruschi suffered a second stroke in 2019 and has done a lot of work to bring awareness to this cause, as many aren’t as fortunate as he is to be okay after suffering even a minor stroke.
Bruschi wound up winning Comeback Player of the Year that year due to his return.
As the heart and soul of that defense for 13 years, the Pats couldn’t have won three Super Bowls without him and he surely has cemented a place in the hearts of Pats fans and Bill Belichick himself forever.
It’s great to see Bruschi doing well in retirement following these health issues, and it’s a blessing that this isn’t a common occurrence in football.
