Diwali is the festival of lights and also the festival of deep cleaning. Those celebrating the festival meticulously clean and decorate their homes to welcome Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha. Since cleaning is an integral part of this festival, people often give makeovers to old items in the house.

A major challenge arises when tackling old, stained, burnt, and stubborn utensils. These tough stains demand hours of effort, often leaving one unsatisfied and irritated.

Here are a few easy and effective hacks to transform hours of struggle into minutes of work.

Use Baking Soda

Utensils often blacken, burn, or become sticky during cooking. Baking soda can help restore their shine. First, wash the utensil with hot water, then sprinkle baking soda on the affected area. Wait for five to six minutes and wipe off the utensil with a sponge to get it sparkling clean.

Using Liquid Chlorine

This traditional method effectively cleans ceramic, glass, and plastic utensils. Boil the utensils in water for 10 minutes, carefully pour liquid chlorine over them for a sparkling finish, and rinse them with water after a few minutes.

Using Vinegar

Vinegar brightens brass utensils. Mix vinegar with onion juice and apply it to stained utensils. You can also apply vinegar directly and scrub with a brush for a gleaming shine.

Using Coffee Powder

For stubborn dirt on plastic containers or other utensils, coffee provides an effective solution. This traditional method is remarkably effective. Run a mixture of salt, coffee and ice over the stained area. The abrasive texture of coffee helps remove stubborn dirt.

These tips are also highly effective for cleaning brass, steel, and copper utensils, quickly removing dark stains, grease, and other dirt. Their effectiveness has made them popular household cleaning solutions.
