Queen Camilla battles jet lag with frequent stops during royal tour

The royal couple arrived in Sydney on Friday night

Queen Camilla shared that she felt the effects of jet lag after she and King Charles travelled separately to Australia for their nine-day royal tour.

The royal couple arrived in Sydney on Friday night, with Queen Camilla, 77, admitting she was still adjusting when asked by Ellie Mantle, the wife of Rector Michael Mantle, if she had recovered. The Queen responded with a simple “Sort of.”

The couple took different flights, with King Charles leaving London on October 17 after completing several royal duties, while Queen Camilla, known for her fear of flying, departed at a later time and opted for more frequent stops, reported GB News.

Camilla has previously mentioned her husband’s “workaholic” nature, explaining why he stayed behind longer for his commitments.

On Sunday morning, the King and Queen attended St Thomas’ Anglican Church in North Sydney after taking a rest day on Saturday.

During their visit, they were given gifts for their grandchildren, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, including a rugby ball, cricket ball, and a stuffed koala.

The King expressed his deep fondness for Australia, stating: “With the sands of time encouraging brevity, it just remains for me to say what a great joy it is to come to Australia for the first time as Sovereign, and to renew a love of this country and its people which I have cherished for so long.”

He also reflected on the importance of evolving democratic systems, emphasizing their value while acknowledging the need for them to remain fit for purpose.
