Rapper T.I. Was Slammed With Massive $2 Million Tax Lien

Rapper T.I.‘s $71 million is about to be $2 million+ short, thanks to his federal debt!

The hip-hop star’s big fortune is being hunted by shadows of his past debts, which he incurred months before his September big win in court.

T.I. and Tameka ‘Tiny’ Cottle earned a whopping $71 million against toy giant MGA Entertainment after a jury found the company guilty of violating the couple’s intellectual property rights.

The lien stated that the rapper, whose real name is Clifford Harris, owed $383,512.45 for 2021 and $2,142,360.73 for 2022, bringing his debt to a total of $2,525,873.18.

The same situation happened back in 2015 when federal liens accused the couple of owing $1.3 million for 2012 and another $3 million for 2013.

Following the 2015 tax debt issues, the couple settled millions in back taxes and had stayed clean of tax drama ever since until this year, per In Touch.

T.I. was hit with the federal tax lien on June 13 before he was awarded his huge settlement in court on September 23, 2024, against MGA Entertainment.

The lien could not have come at a better time as the couple turned business partners are still reeling over their impressive victory at the court, which saw their net worth go up by $71 million.

The Blast reported that the couple began the long court battle when they sued MGA Entertainment company in 2020 for allegedly making dolls that resembled the members of their all-female OMG Girlz group formed by the couple in 2009.

T.I. and Tiny insisted that the brand copied the band’s appearances from “very specific public events,” including the image and likeness of Tiny’s oldest daughter, Zonnique Pullins.

The jury found MGA Entertainment guilty as the case wrapped up on September 23. It was ordered to pay a total settlement of $71 million – $17.9 million in compensatory damages and $53.6 million in punitive damages.

Two months ago, in August, a woman under the pseudonym Jane Doe claimed in her lawsuit that the famous couple sexually assaulted her in a hotel room in 2005.

She claimed to have met the couple at a club when she was just 22 years old and a member of the Air Force. Tiny allegedly offered her a drink, after which T.I. invited her to their Los Angeles hotel room, where things went downhill when they got there.

The victim claimed their body language changed as T.I. started giving her “instructions for how the remainder of the night was going to go.” She immediately became suspicious and realized she had been drugged after experiencing dizziness while in the shower with the pair.

The victim continued that she started feeling sick and vomiting, after which she became convinced that she had been drugged by Tiny “for the purpose of sexually assaulting and battering her.”

She noted that she “did not consent to any of the sexual assault or misconduct and did not have the capacity to consent after being drugged by Defendants.”

The accuser stated that the couple’s actions led to “severe emotional, physical, and psychological injury, including humiliation, shame, guilt, economic loss, economic capacity, and permanent emotional distress.

T.I. and Tiny responded to the lawsuit in July, demanding that the court throw out the case against them. They also strongly denied the claims in the lawsuit, arguing that the allegations were “time-barred” under the law.

An attorney representing the couple stated that the statute of limitations had expired over sixteen years ago while insisting that the encounter between the parties had been consensual.

“The facts, as alleged, reflect that [Doe] voluntarily and consciously participated in the encounter up to the point when she said ‘no’ and removed herself from the bed with Defendants,” the attorney stated.

T.I. and Tiny explained that they honored the accuser’s desire to be excused that night and “go to the bathroom, sit on a couch until the morning, and then leave.”

The rapper shared his latest decision during an interview on 96.1’s afternoon show. The Blast shared that the 44-year-old declared his retirement from performing, stating that his final paid performance would be at the 96.1 The Beat’s Jingle Ball holiday concert on December 19 in Atlanta.

“I appreciate y’all for offering me my last working gig because I do not need the money anymore, and I will not be performing. I don’t want to do it no more…I don’t want people to pay me to hop around and sweat for their entertainment anymore,” he explained.

T.I’s decision to step back from the spotlight coincided with his million-dollar victory, and when the show’s host asked if he would participate in future shows, he replied, “Of course, I’m going to answer the phone to tell them that I will not be performing.”
