I keep hearing supporters of former President Donald Trump telling people to vote for him because of his policies, not his personality.
Let me be clear, my problem with Trump has nothing to do with his brash attitude or tendency to offend others. My grandparents were old-school, plain-spoken New Yorkers, so I consider myself immune to Trump’s brand of charisma. I actually found it charming before he first ran for president.
But, considering another Trump “attribute”: If an unknown 27-year-old like myself had 34 felony convictions, was found liable in civil court for sexual assault, caused physical harm to others with my words and actions, and repeatedly made threats against the general public — I would be in the custody of the New Jersey Department of Corrections with little chance of ever seeing freedom.
