Aditya Roy Kapur is known for his versatile acting, charming screen presence, and roles in both romantic and intense films. Recently, the ‘Aashiqui 2‘ actor revealed that he had battled a rough patch in his 15-year career, where his films were not working, and he stopped getting excited about new projects.
During a conversation with Kareena Kapoor Khan on her chat show ‘What Women Want’, Aditya Roy Kapur opened up about a tough phase in his life where he found himself to be the most vulnerable.
Aditya reflected on his career challenges, mentioning that there were times when his films didn’t succeed or when he wasn’t getting work. He shared that during those vulnerable periods, he wasn’t satisfied with the roles being offered, likely because of his state of mind at the time. It was a tough phase where he wasn’t interested in the projects available and took a break from acting.
The actor emphasized that having a strong support system, including friends and family, was crucial in helping him overcome those difficulties.
When Kareena Kapoor inquired about how Aditya Roy Kapur handles failures, he explained that his approach varies with each film. He added that making a film, along with the intense promotional activities, often takes nearly a year. If the film then fails at the box office, it creates a significant void, leaving a lasting impact.
Aditya shared that after dedicating a year of hard work to a film and promoting it with great intensity, there is a sense of heightened anticipation. According to him, if the film succeeds, it’s rewarding, but when it doesn’t, the disappointment can be unsettling.
The actor admitted that it always hurts and takes time to process the failure and accept it. During this period, he prefers to retreat and reflect on his own before stepping back into the public sphere.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Aditya is set to star in Anurag Basu‘s ‘Metro In Dino‘ alongside Sara Ali Khan.
