Dylan Peterson scores two goals in second period to propel Thunderbirds over Providence Bruins

SPRINGFIELD – Inside the MassMutual Center on Saturday night, a hard-fought and gritty matchup between the Springfield Thunderbirds and Providence Bruins took place. The Thunderbirds came out on top, winning 4-2, scoring three out of their four goals in the second period.

This win also came on the back of two of Springfield’s key forwards – Hugh McGing and Zach Dean – being unavailable. Leaning on other players to fill in the gaps, head coach Steve Konowalchuk was happy with how everyone filled in, while also recognizing the importance for the other guys to step into a bigger role in today’s game.
