Chrissy Teigen is shaking up Thanksgiving traditions, revealing she doesn’t do all the cooking herself.
The 38-year-old model and cookbook author relies on fast food staples like Popeye’s and Kentucky Fried Chicken to craft her holiday feast.
But that’s not all—Teigen also sources an iconic treat from Disneyland in Anaheim, California. Speaking to Travel + Leisure, the star shared her festive hack: “We’re getting 20 smoked turkey legs from Disneyland.
Anyone who’s had those knows they taste like ham—they’re crazy to me. Turkey doesn’t get better than that.”
Married to Grammy-winning crooner John Legend, the Sports Illustrated alum has proven that even a foodie can appreciate a little theme park magic when it comes to Thanksgiving.
The model and cookbook author revealed her favorite “cheat” traditions, which include skipping the kitchen for some fast-food favorites and embracing the joy of simplicity.
Reflecting on her Disneyland visits, Teigen shared, “We’ll just lean up against the dumpster and pick at turkey legs when we’re there.
That’s one of my favorite moments always, so that’s my cheat for turkey this year.”
As for gravy, the star admits she doesn’t make her own, opting instead for beloved staples. “I love Popeye’s and KFC gravy so much,” she told Travel + Leisure.
“If you can’t do it better than the one you love or grew up on, just bring it in.”
Teigen also opened up about letting go of holiday stress. “I used to put so much pressure on myself to be perfect,” she said.
“But the holidays are about family, not running around the kitchen. I like to keep things as fun and simple as possible.”
With this refreshing approach, Teigen reminds fans that Thanksgiving is about savoring moments—not just meals.
