Taylor swift’s security team sparked controversy for charging a massive amount for the ongoing ‘Eras Tour’, amid safety concerns.
According to the reports, the Metropolitan Police spent more than $1 million to provide security at the sold out shows. But, the expenses escalated because of the special demands from Taylor’s team.
The expense for Taylor’s June concert was $85000 for each evening. However, when the Love Story vocalist returned in August, the amount skyrocketed to around $125,000 per night, marking a 45% increase.
The surge in the amount arose from the unexpected safety threat, as her return to London got aligned with a terror plot, which interrupted her three scheduled shows, in Vienna, reported MARCA.
To ensure their protection, the 34-year-old team-led by her mother and manager, Andrea Swift-demanded a blue-light police escort with specialized outriders.
A close source revealed that, “Andrea wasn’t afraid to play hardball. She negotiated directly with government officials, pushing for the Met to make exceptions to its policies.”
Moreover, the situation became so worse that Home Secretary, Yvette Cooper and other senior authorities allegedly got involved in solving the issue.
For the unknown, the ‘Eras Tour’ is Taylor Swift’s ongoing sixth concert tour. It commenced in Glendale on March 17, 2023, and will be concluded in Vancouver on December 8, 2024,
